Have you ever wondered what Southampton’s city centre would look like without cars?
With many of the city’s roads plagued by roadworks recently, the Daily Echo used an AI program from Dutch Cycling Lifestyle to reimagine some of our traffic hotspots.
Images were sourced from Google Maps and then fed into the algorithm to replace cars and roads with cycle paths and greenery.
Here are how some streets look in this alternative carless future, brought to life by artificial intelligence.
Above Bar Street
Traffic lights are no longer needed on Above Bar Street, as the road has been paved over with a pedestrian cobble - at least KFC managed to survive the algorithm.
Commercial Road
There would be no driving to Mayflower Theatre in this rendition of Commercial Road.

Bushes border a foot path running down the middle of the hill.
Cumberland Place
Trees and little fences have replaced the busy junction at Cumberland Place - a cycle path replaces an area that pedestrians often struggle to cross over.
Mayflower Roundabout
Mayflower Roundabout has been encompassed in greenery but access is still available via cycle paths, as the bold glass pyramid of the Leonardo Royal hotel can be seen behind a field of flowers.
Town Quay
A busy junction connecting Town Quay with West Quay Road near the Red Funnel terminal is no longer needed in this carless world, so a beautiful bending cycle path has been laid down instead.
