The following cases were heard at Southampton Magistrates' Court:

DEAN COOPER, 41, of Oak Road, Bursledon pleaded guilty to two counts of assault by beating, one count of criminal damage, and two counts of assault of an emergency worker. On August 21, 2023, Cooper assaulted a woman in Salisbury by beating her. On May 23, 2023, he assaulted another woman in Salisbury by beating her. He admitted damaging a computer monitor belonging to Wiltshire Police on August 22, 2023, and assaulting two police officers on the same day. Appearing before Southampton Magistrates’ Court, Cooper was given an 18-month community order, as part of which he must carry out 120 hours of unpaid work and complete a 30 rehabilitation days. He must also pay £100 in compensation to each victim.

CIPRIAN STINCESCU, 35, of Shirley Road, Southampton, admitted to driving while disqualified on October 19, 2023.Stincescu was driving an Audi on the A34 in Oxford while he was disqualified. He was remanded on unconditional bail and will next appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on January 15, 2025.

DALIUS VALYS, 37, of Kenilworth Road, Southampton pleaded guilty to drug driving on April 10, 2024. Valys was driving a Mercedes Sprinter on the M3 northbound between junctions seven and six with Benzoylecgonine – the main metabolite of cocaine – in his blood. He also admitted to driving the vehicle without third party insurance, on the same date. He was disqualified from driving for 18 months and fined £461. He must almost pay costs of £85 and a £184 victim surcharge.

NATHANUAL HEMY, 26, of Keynsham Road, Southampton pleaded guilty to failing to cooperate with a preliminary test – a roadside drugs wipe - in Peartree Avenue on June 21, 2024, and driving a vehicle otherwise in accordance with his licence. He also pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle in Peartree Avenue on June 21, 2024 without due care or attention, and using a vehicle without third party insurance. Appearing before Southampton Magistrates’ Court, Hemy was handed a six month driving disqualification and a six month conditional discharge, meaning he is not sentenced unless he commits another offence in the six month period. He must pay court costs of £40.
