The following cases were heard at Southampton Magistrates' Court:
GEOFFREY BEADLE, 43, of Denmead Road, Southampton, admitted three counts of shoplifting. He stole Mars bars worth £34 from Co-op in Southampton on May 8, bacon worth £7 from Co-op in Southampton on May 16, and Cadbury Caramel bars worth £40 from Co-op on May 13. Beadle also pleaded guilty to failing to surrender to police/court bail on November 1. Appearing at Southampton Magistrates’ Court, he was ordered to pay costs of £85 and compensation of £40, £7, and £34 for each offence. He was handed a 12-month conditional discharge, meaning he is not sentenced unless he commits another offence in the 12 month period.
ROBERT JONES, 35, of Pendleton Gardens, Blackfield, admitted stealing meat worth £135 from Aldi in Millbrook on May 20, 2024. Jones also pleaded guilty to stealing chocolate worth £50 from Asda in Southampton on July 12, 2024, and stealing washing products costing £46.50 from Poundland on August 25, 2024. He admitted assault by beating of an emergency worker – a police sergeant – on August 25, 2024. He was handed a community order to be completed by May 3, 2026. He must also undertake a rehabilitation activity for 25 days and pay total compensation of £350.

DENIS STASZYNSKI, 32, of Derby Road, Southampton, pleaded guilty to racially/religiously aggravated intentional harassment in a car park at Portland Terrace on December 20, 2022. He also admitted to assault by beating in the NCP car park in Portland Terrace on December 20, 2022. He was ordered to pay £100 compensation for the first offence and £50 compensation for the second offence. He was given a 12-month community order, and must complete 12 rehabilitation activity days.
EDDIE DONOHOE, 66, of Carpenter Close, Lymington, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen for analysis wen driving on August 3, 2024. Appearing at Southampton Magistrates’ Court, he was ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a surcharge of £49. He was also disqualified from driving for 36 months, which will be reduced to 36 weeks if he completes a driving course. He was also fined £123.
