The senior general manager of a nursing home has been shortlisted for a prestigious national award.
Sarah Hayman, from Challoner House Nursing Home in Chandler's Ford, has been selected as a regional finalist in the frontline leadership award for the southern region at the Great British Care Awards 2024.
The southern regional awards are part of a series celebrating excellence across the care sector and recognising those who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in their work.
Mrs Hayman has been invited to the awards gala ceremony on November 15 in Brighton, where the regional winners will be announced.
National winners will then be determined from the regional winners.
Mrs Hayman, a devoted general manager, has been instrumental to the home's success, known for her close relationships with residents and her ability to maintain staff morale.
Challoner House Nursing Home, run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers, offers nursing, residential, and respite care.

Mrs Hayman said: "I wasn’t expecting to be shortlisted for this award but I am so pleased, and proud. We don’t work in care for the accolades but it’s wonderful to be recognised by my team and peers, it is nothing short of an honour."
Regional manager Sam Humphries said: "This is an amazing achievement, and the staff, residents and local community are supporting Sarah wholeheartedly.
"It’s more important than ever to recognise everyone that has worked so hard. It is lovely to recognise these individuals.
