An application to extend a historic theatre in Romsey has been approved.
Planners at Test Valley Borough Council have approved the amendment to plans which will see the Plaza Theatre, in Romsey, extended.
The original application was submitted to the council by Cllr Neil Gwynne, Plaza chairman, and seeks to extend the rear of the building to increase the height to that of existing main roof, to increase internal backstage height, to include extending the main roof at the sides to cover parapet with external guttering.
The amendment application, also submitted by Cllr Gwynne, asks for permission to infill a windowing opening with brickwork.
The application was approved at the Test Valley Borough Council Southern Area Planning Committee on Tuesday, November 5.
The committee chose to approve the application without debate.
