A well-known pub in Thornhill and a popular takeaway in Shirley are the latest to be given food hygiene ratings by the Food Standards Agency.
The Bittern on Thornhill Park Road was rated three out of five stars during its last inspection back on October 5.
However, the well-known pub has now been given a five-out-of-five after being reinspected on November 9.

The Bittern’s website states it is the place to be for live sport, a catch up with mates, or a cheeky pint after work – the hallmarks of any local boozer.
Another Southampton venue to get a recent inspection was the Mai Thai takeaway on Shirley road which serves authentic Thai cuisine.
After being visited by the Food Standard Agency on October 5 the takeaway was given a four star rating.
The restaurant offers a variety of options, including vegetarian and gluten-free alternatives.
