A naval base marked Remembrance Day with a special ceremony using drums as an altar.
HMS Sultan held a Drumhead Ceremony to honour those who sacrificed their lives for the nation. The ceremony was attended by senior officers and Captain Mark Hamilton, the commanding officer of HMS Sultan.
Wreaths were laid by representatives of HMS Sultan, civil servants, and the youngest engineering trainees in the base’s schools.
These were also laid at the Falklands Conflict Memorial within the base.
Trainee Survival Engineering Technician Charlie Burdock said: "It’s a huge honour to be asked to lay a wreath. My great Grandad served in the Navy during the Second World War and it’s great to have the opportunity to remember him."
On Sunday, November 12, sailors, and Royal Navy and Royal Marine Volunteer Cadet Corp cadets from HMS Sultan participated in remembrance activities in the community, including services at Gosport War Memorial, Fleet Air Arm Memorial, and the sunken garden in Lee-On-The-Solent.
