A new mental health support group is set to launch in Gosport.

ANDYSMANCLUB, which supports men aged 18 and over, will open in the town on December 2, 2024.

The Halifax-based charity was founded in 2016 in memory of Andy Roberts, who died by suicide, and aims to provide a safe space for men to open up about their struggles.

Its first session had nine attendees, but the groups are now available in hundreds of locations nationwide.

The Gosport club will meet every Monday at 7pm, excluding bank holidays.

Sessions are free to attend and require no prior registration.

Following the Covid-19 pandemic, ANDYSMANCLUB also created an online function via Google Meet, enabling men who cannot leave their homes to join sessions.

The long-term goal of the charity is to ensure every man in the UK has a support group within 30 minutes of travel.
