Five fire engines and an aerial ladder platform were needed to tackle a fire at a commercial property in Southampton city centre on Monday.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire Service crews from St Mary’s, Redbridge and Hightown rushed to Commercial Road at 9.21pm.
The fire broke out in the horizontal band which runs along the edge of the building’s roof where it overhangs the outer walls – an area known as the fascia.

Crowds passed by the fire after pedestrians poured out of the Mayflower Theatre following a performance from The Overtones.
Firefighters used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and positive pressure ventilation for smoke clearance, and the fire had been put out by 10.08pm.
The flats above the commercial building were unaffected by the fire and no injuries were reported.
Fire services confirmed to the Daily Echo that they have no records of a police investigation in conjunction with this incident.
