Eastleigh FC Walking Football Club has celebrated ten years with a donation to Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.
With more than 200 members, the walking footballers raised a total of £618 through raffles during the club’s quiz night at the Concorde Club and the special 10-year anniversary dinner at the Silverlake Stadium Restaurant.
This recent donation follows a further £700 that was gifted earlier in the year, to reflect the club’s gratitude when one of its members was involved in a serious road accident and the air ambulance crew saved his life.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance exists to bring immediate, life-saving critical care to patients when they need it most.
The charity began operations in 2007 and is currently aiming to raise £3.6 million to move its airbase and offices to a purpose built headquarters close to Southampton Airport, reducing critical response times.
