Hampshire County Council has deployed salt gritters for the first time this winter as freezing temperatures are set to hit the city.
The council has unleashed a fleet of gritters that are set to spread salt around the county as freezing temperatures are set to sweep in next week.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Highways said: "Our gritters will be out later today on the priority one routes due to forecasted low temperatures."

Friday, November 15, is set to see highs of just 11 degrees with next week set to see temperatures as low as six degrees.
This will be the fist time the gritters have been deployed by the local authority this winter.
A spokesperson for the Met Office said: "Saturday initially similar to Friday, but successively giving way to colder conditions from overnight into Sunday.
"Detail then uncertain into the new week, but risk of wintry hazards rising."
