A Southampton couple are devastated after a hit-and-run crash left them without a way to take their children to school.
According to Hannah Salmond, her husband Jamie parked their Citroen on South East Road in Sholing on Friday night (November 15) while visiting his father.
When Jamie came back to the car early on Saturday morning, he was shocked to see the front of the vehicle a wreck, with it appearing to have been hit by a passing car.
Mum of four Hannah said they were now facing the prospect of having no car to take the children to school, all while looking after their new-born.
They also had to spend 'a lot of money' on their insurance excess to get driving again, right on top of the Christmas period.

Hannah said: “My husband parked outside the Lou’s It Gentlemen’s Barbers last night while visiting his dad. Once he came back to the car he found it smashed into pieces.
“It’s affected us greatly, especially just before Christmas and due to no fault of our own [we] have to pay out a lot of money for excess.
“We have four daughters, one being a new-born, and I have no idea how I’m going to be able to take them to and from school at the moment.
“On top of that I’m not sure how it’s going to affect us money-wise as potentially I won’t be able to afford a new car once everything is paid off.
“People don’t think into detail when doing these sorts of things how much it’s going to affect someone’s life.”
The family have reported the incident to police, who say they are aware of the incident.

In the meantime, they have been contacting local businesses and residents in the area who may have captured the incident on CCTV.
They have also asked anyone in the area who may have seen something to get in touch with police.
A spokesperson for Hampshire police said: “We have received a report of damage to a parked vehicle on South East Road.
“The report was made to us at 1.30am today, Saturday, November 16.”
