A PCSO has been assaulted by a teenager caught with bottles of vodka in Hedge End.

On Saturday night (November 16) she was on patrol in Hedge End when she came across three teens sat on the steps at the entrance of St Luke’s Pharmacy on St Luke's Close in Hedge End.

In a post on Facebook, the PCSO said the boys were surrounded by litter and were asked to move on.

She said: "As I asked them to move a rucksack that was left in the middle of the pavement I heard glass inside, so I started to explain I have the power to search for alcohol and things quickly went south.

"It ended up with me being assaulted and the young people ran off.

"Inside the bag were two large bottles of vodka, which I poured down the drain in St Luke's Close and recorded this on my body worn video.

"My thanks to the pharmacy who were lovely in helping to clear up the rubbish and dispose of all the empty bottle and containers.

"I now know the identity of all three young people and the young man with the vodka was 13 years old - he will be dealt with for assaulting an emergency worker."

A police spokesperson said the officer was not injured as a result of the incident and she has returned to duty.

The investigation continues, police said.
