A person has been pronounced dead after being hit by a train in Hampshire.
A police cordon was put in place while emergency services dealt with the incident on Saturday at around 10pm.
There were several hours of travel disruption as a result of the incident.
Lines reopened at 4am on Sunday.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to New Milton station shortly after 9pm on Saturday 16 November following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Officers attended along with paramedics but sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
