Southampton is set for its first taste of winter this week with temperatures set to fall as low as -1°C on Thursday morning.
Spells of rain will make way for clearer weather and some sunshine as the week goes on, though temperatures are set to get colder in the week before returning to seasonal averages at the weekend.
The UK Health and Security Agency has issued a yellow cold health alert – that will be in place until 6pm on Saturday – with the Met Office warning it could have an impact on people’s health and social care services.
