A free family Winter Fest is being organised by Richard Taunton Sixth Form College.

The event is set to take place on November 30 at the college's Hill Lane campus in Southampton.

The event will feature performances from the college's music and performing arts students, as well as a choir of up to 100 pupils from Hollybrook Infants, Shirley Infants, and Wordsworth Primary.

There will also be a duet from Oasis Academy pupils and carols from Southampton's Ocean Brass.

Performing arts students will present extracts from their Peter Pan pantomime, scheduled for December 4 and 5 at the college.

Various college departments will organise free activities and games, and a raffle will be held to raise money for Southampton City Mission's foodbank.

The top prize in the raffle is a PlayStation 5 donated by design agency Frost Creative.

Executive principal Andy Grant said: "We love inviting the community into the college and what better time to do it than Christmas?” he said. “We are looking forward to helping everyone get the season off to a great start with some festive music and food and the chance to get ahead on present buying.

"I’m also delighted our raffle will be supporting the City Mission again to contribute to their wonderful work and thank Frost Creative and all of our prize donors.

"It promises to be a great day and we are looking forward to everyone coming in and seeing the talent we have among our students – and throughout our community."

Street food, including Warsash Wood Fired Pizza and vegetarian and vegan options, will be available, along with sweet snacks, hot drinks, and mince pies.

Winter Fest will be open from 11am to 3pm. To book a place, visit eventbrite.co.uk and search for 'Winter Fest Saturday, November 30 Richard Taunton Sixth Form College'.
