A Southampton man has been charged with criminal damage and possession with intent to supply of Class A drugs, following a spate of incidents.

Michael O’Leary, 36, of Westbrook Way, Southampton was charged with five offences.

He appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on Monday following reports of the incidents taking place in Basingstoke and Andover.

O’Leary was charged with assaulting a person thereby occasioning them actual bodily harm, criminal damage, possessing a knife blade in a public place, acquiring criminal property, and possession with intent a supply of Class A and B drugs.

It comes after officers received reports that a woman had been assaulted, a car had been damaged, and a man had been seen with a knife in Beggarwood, Basingstoke, on October 4.

Meanwhile, officers located suspected class A and Class B drugs as well as £240 in cash following a search on Micheldever Road, Andover, on November 13.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: “Following the incidents, O’Leary was arrested and later charged.

“He appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates Court yesterday and was remanded into custody.

“He is due to appear at Winchester Crown Court on Wednesday, December 18.”
