A man has been jailed after stealing 39 bottles of wine – worth nearly £300 – from a Co-op store in Southampton.
Kieron Slack-Travers, 28, of Beauchamp Drive in Newport, Isle of Wight, appeared at Southampton Magistrates Court on Friday, November 15, where he pleaded guilty to three counts of theft.
The court heard how on three occasions between November 8 and November 12, Slack-Travers stole a total of 39 bottles of wine, worth £292.40, from the Co-op store in Ocean Village.
He was arrested in Southampton on Thursday, November 14, and charged with the three theft offences.

He was also charged and pleaded guilty to one count of breaking bail conditions and one count of failing to remain for initial assessment following a test for the presence of Class A drugs.
Slack-Travers has now been sentenced to five months in prison.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: “The actions of Slack-Travers and those who shoplift have a huge impact on businesses and staff, when they are simply trying to do their jobs.
“We take shoplifting reports very seriously and hope that this court result sends the message that shoplifting and its associated criminality will not be tolerated in Southampton.”
