The Utilita Bowl has scooped three prestigious awards at a cricket business ceremony.

The venue was recognised at the England and Wales Cricket Board’s Business of Cricket Awards 2024, held at Edgbaston, for its innovation and contributions to the sport.

The Utilita Bowl's partnership with Utilita Energy, which saw more than 1,000 solar panels installed at the venue, was hailed as the Sponsorship Campaign of the Year.

This was the first time such an initiative had been seen at a cricket ground.

The venue was also acknowledged for its efforts to grow women’s cricket through 'Project Double It.'

This project led to the Utilita Bowl becoming the first venue to sell out consecutive England Women’s international fixtures.

For these efforts, the venue was awarded the Transforming the Women’s Game award.

Richard Thompson, ECB chair, said: "Huge congratulations to all of this year’s BOCA winners. It has been a privilege to celebrate the very best of the work carried out by First-Class Counties and MCC across England and Wales this year.

"The innovation and dedication shown has been truly inspiring. It’s fantastic to see the impact of Hampshire’s extensive efforts in growing the women’s game, Warwickshire’s continued commitment to sustainability, Lancashire’s ground-breaking digital strategy, and so much more. All this work shows a real commitment across the game to becoming bigger, better and more inclusive."

The Best Spectator Experience – Women’s International award was also given to the venue for its outstanding efforts in delivering memorable experiences for fans.

The awards highlight the work of first-class counties and the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) in growing the sport.
