Residents and visitors are being urged to nominate their favourite independent businesses in a new competition.
Gosport Borough Council is launching the contest to find "Gosport's Best Independent Business", with nominations opening today.
The council is encouraging people to celebrate their favourite independent business, whether it's a coffee shop, hairdressers, or market stall.
Councillor Peter Chegwyn, leader of Gosport Borough Council, said: "Gosport is full of brilliant independent businesses offering everything from handmade crafts to tasty dining experiences.

"Many of them are run by and employ local people, and they're part of the fabric of our communities. Celebrate your favourite local business by nominating them to win a bumper prize package - and a great start to the new year."
The winner, announced in January, will receive a range of prizes, including a free town centre market pitch and a marketing support package.
