One lane of the entry slip road at junction 5 on the M27 has been shut for months – National Highways has now given a date for when the slip road will be free of road works.
In February, National Highways announced that it would undertake an £83 million project to see a concrete section of the M27 resurfaced after noise complaints for those living in the area.
With entry sip at junction 5, Eastleigh, being down to just one traffic has been building around the Stoneham Way roundabout and around the Southampton Airport area.

National Highways has now confirmed that it plans to have the entry slip road at junction 5 is to fully reopen before Christmas 2024.
One Eastleigh resident on social media said that the closer of the entry slip had cause much congestion.
The Eastleigh resident wrote: “This is causing major congestion in all parts of Eastleigh.
“It takes at least 45 minutes to travel from Eastleigh train station along Wide Lane to get to the motorway.”
