Two therapeutic Hampshire wellness retreats have been named among the best to try in the UK.

Experiences offered by Heckfield Place near Hook and the Lime Wood Hotel in Lyndhurst featured alongside 14 others in an article from The Times.

Discussing the creation of the list, the publication wrote: "While the British “health farm” breaks of decades past tended to focus variously on restrictive diets, neat cuticles and aqua aerobics, the wellness retreats worth knowing about now are more concerned with transformation from the inside out.

"Mental clarity, emotional resilience and physical rejuvenation are increasingly what matter to today’s clued-up travellers, who will find a smorgasbord of switched-on facilities around the UK promising to send them home feeling stronger in body and soul than they did on arrival."

Heckfield Place

Heckfield Place was praised by The Times for its wellness retreat that allows visitors to reconnect with nature.

Additionally, its variety of therapies and calm activities was another point of commendation.

"Wildsmith treatments follow the principles of the circadian rhythms so, for instance, a therapeutic massage designed to spark up energy pathways uses essential oils specifically blended for the time of day it begins.

"Osteopathy, naturopathy, craniosacral and nature therapies are all available, alongside forest bathing walks, breathwork and movement sessions in the woods."

Heckfield Place has also earned a 4.5/5 score on Tripadvisor from 508 reviews.

Lime Wood Hotel

The Lime Wood Hotel offers a number of experienced professionals running aspects of its wellness retreat.

These people have helped refresh famous names from Uma Thurman and David Cameron.

This expertise has perhaps helped it to achieve a 4.5/5 score on Tripadvisor from 1,919 reviews.
