A councillor remains in the dark over why some street lighting in Southampton is no longer being switched on at night.
Millbrook representative Jeremy Moulton said something was “definitely going on” but he had been unable to get to the bottom of the situation.
He said residents were highlighting various street lights, which should be on at night, being turned off.

Southampton City Council’s Labour administration said it will investigate after Cllr Moulton raised the matter at the full council meeting on Wednesday, November 27.
In an initial written response to Cllr Moulton, cabinet member for environment and transport Cllr Eamonn Keogh said no changes had been implemented through the local authority’s contractor Enerveo.
At the meeting, Conservative deputy group leader Cllr Moulton said this did not sound correct.
He gave a list of various locations that had been identified in the community, adding that there was a “huge amount of buzz” online.
Cllr Moulton said: “Something is definitely going on here.
“I’m not sure when it happened, but people have been reporting since at least October lights that were on, are now off.
“How does that square with your answer that no changes have been made?”
Cllr Keogh said he was not aware that the council had made any changes and anyone with concerns should report them.
“I’m more than happy for us to investigate but there is a link on our website,” Cllr Keogh said.
“I would urge all ward members if they have a query, check that link because when you click on a light it will indicate that this light will be turned off under the street lighting policy that we have adopted.
“I can assure members here that I have had no such conversations or any emails or any discussions regarding that policy.”
Cllr Moulton said he thought it was “incumbent” on the cabinet member to investigate.
He referenced an email sent to a resident by Enerveo on November 1, which said the council had recently made changes.
“It sounds like the council has told Enerveo to do things, but you’re not in the loop, so does that worry you quite considerably,” Cllr Moulton said.
Cllr Keogh replied: “Let’s find out what the situation is because I have already asked the questions of officers have there been any changes to our inventory and I have been assured that there have not.
“What I am going to do is I am going to go back to officers and I am going to ask.”
