LOOK after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves is a motto that pensioner Pat Wilson certainly agrees with.
For the last 60 years she has been doing just that and making big savings along the way.
She said: “Empty all the change in your purse into a jar at the end of the week and it makes a nice nest egg when you need it or if there is something you want.
“Some weeks I have 10p but others I may have £6 and it soon builds up.
“I have been doing this since I got married 60 years ago and I must have saved up thousands.
“You don’t miss a little bit of change.
“I think it is a jolly good way of saving money.”
