Crowds from across the globe gathered to see QE2 for a final time today.
Among the handful of sightseeers at Dock Head early this morning was Australian, Diana Baker from Sydney, who has travelled on QE2 for a total of 24 voyages, three of those this year.
“I just had to be here she is a real ship and the only real ship still left afloat,” said Diana.

Also on the Quayside was 43-year-old George Kehler who had flown to meet the ship from his home in Tennessee, USA.
Wearing a 1960s Cunard uniform which he had bought for $200 on the Internet, George has travelled on QE2 15 times since his initial time on board when he was a young child aged five.
“I felt it was an obligation to be here and watch her come in,” said George who met his wife Susan on the ship in 2003.
“She is the last of breed and I felt that I owed it to her after all the pleasure given to me over the years,” he added.
All three will be on the ship’s last voyage to Dubai.
QE2 was a little over half an hour late as she came into berth just past 7.30am today.
