ALLEGED murderer Maninder Pal Singh Kohli has today spoken of his fear for his life on the day after he claims he was abducted, blindfolded and forced to have sex with a female.
Kohli, 41 , denies the abduction, false imprisonment, rape and murder of Hannah Foster, 17, in Southampton on March 14 2003.
He told the court today he was himself abducted by three men and forced to have intercourse in a car.
He said his abductors demanded he pay £25,000 within four days or they would shoot him.
This afternoon Kohli told the jury he had gone home after being dumped by the abductors, slept for two hours and then gone to work in the morning on his sandwich delivery round.
He said he used the same route to Portsmouth as normal.
Kohli was asked by his counsel Abbas Lakha QC whether he had seen or heard Hannah's mobile phone that was in the van.
The court heard the police had been able to track his movements that day using mobile phone technology.
Kohli said: "I never saw or heard any phone. I have no idea. I didn't see anything.
"I was on my normal route. I can't remember where I went first. On Saturdays I didn't have to pick my kids up and I was not in a hurry."
Mr Lakha asked him why there was a half an hour gap on his round between two deliveries.
Kohli answered: "I was in a state of fear and scared. I kept thinking what had happened to me the night before. I may have stopped somewhere to think. My mind was not co-operating with my body. I was too much scared.
"I maybe stopped somewhere to think. I don't remember."
He added: "Since my mother had her accident, on Saturdays when not under pressure I would drive to (Southsea) Common and seafront for fresh air and peace of mind."
The trial heard that Hannah's mobile phone and handbag were found in a bottle bank in Portsmouth. Kohli denied ever having visited any bottle bank.
He told the jury he had not finished his delivery round in Portsmouth but returned early to the depot in Southampton. He explained: "I was scared and tired. I had a feeling they were following me."
"I saw cars like the car and I thought they were following me," he said referring to his alleged abductors.
