A HEALTHY lifestyle, good diet and the fresh air of the New Forest have all helped one Hampshire woman reach a very special day.
Lucy Jane Wrann celebrated her 100th birthday surrounded by around a hundred friends and family members.
After opening her card from the Queen, partygoers at the West Totton Community Centre toasted her long life.
Her son Patrick said: “She is a very quiet person and lives for her family.
“Loads of her relations came and it was lots of fun.”
Lucy, a resident at Tendering House Rest Home in Totton, was born in Portsmouth and later lived in Marchwood, Hythe and later in New Milton.
Despite a spell living in Dorset, she later returned to the New Forest.
Her late husband James was well known as a founder of the Agamemnon boat yard in Buckler’s Hard.
Patrick added: “Her secret is that she doesn’t smoke, always had fresh food and has had a very clean life.”
