STRONG pain relief tablets stolen from a car parked in the New Forest may have been dumped by the thief.
Police are warning that the 50 dihydrocodeine tablets could pose a danger to animals or children if swallowed.
"Residents and visitors walking in the Forest are advised to be cautious," said a police spokesman.
The tablets were taken from a blue BMW parked in the Half Moon Common car park in Furzley Road, Bramshaw, on Monday.
Two bags containing a Sony digital camera, an iPod and other personal property were also stolen from the vehicle.
