HAMPSHIRE motorists face long delays this morning after a car crashed with an articulated lorry on the M27.
Two lanes of the motorway were closed near Whiteley at junction 9, following the collision that happened under the fly-over just before 7am.
The 40-year-old male driver of the Red Mondeo, which was heading towards Fareham, had to be cut free from the wreckage by firefighters.
It took crews from Fareham an hour to cut the roof off the car and release the man who was suffering from neck pains. He was taken to Queen Alexander Hospital, in Cosham, for treatment.
The 39-year-old male driver of the lorry appears to be uninjured.
Queues of traffic are snaking back to junction 5 at Eastleigh but recovery vehicles are now at the scene at it is hoped traffic will begin to clear soon.
