A FUNERAL procession had to be halted after a wheel fell off a horse-drawn hearse on route to a Hampshire crematorium.
The accident happened on Portsdown Hill, near Fareham, as mourners made their way to Portchester Crematorium.
The coffin was able to be transferred to a following motor hearse and the service was able to begin on time.
It is believed the horses slipped on black ice before veering off the road, causing the wheel to come off.
