FIRE crews from across the county last night tackled a blaze at a thatched cottage in the New Forest.
Eight crews were called to the fire at Woodside Cottage in Minstead Road near Lyndhurst.
Fire chiefs said the entire roof was in flames. The occupants raised the alarm at about 8pm and no-one was trapped or injured, a fire spokesman said.
Some furniture and belongings were salvaged from the property.
Earlier this week more than 140 firefighters fought a thatched cottage fire in the centre of a Hampshire village.
A blaze broke out on Sunday in the roof of a 300-year-old cottage in High Street, East Meon, part of a three-property terrace near the Izaak Walton pub. The cause was under investigation.
