THE FATE of a redundant village church could be decided tomorrow.
Plans have been unveiled by a developer to turn West Tytherley Methodist Church into residential accommodation.
Planning chiefs are recommending approval of Plantwide Services Ltd’s scheme that includes adding an upper floor to the single storey building in Red Lane.
But West Tytherley and Frenchmoor Parish Council is objecting to the plan on the grounds that the design is “very poor” in appearance. The authority also says it would be better to demolish the church, built in 1956, and start the building from scratch.
The church closed in 2003 after a decline in congregation numbers.
