A SOUTHAMPTON school has grabbed a gold mark for the work it does in developing arts both in school and after class.
St Monica Junior School in St Monica Road, Sholing, already had the standard arts mark but grabbed the gold after leapfrogging silver. A representative of the Arts Council spent a day at the school to assess the core arts subjects before awarding them the certificate. The school is one of 18 in the county to receive the Gold Arts Mark.
