COCAINE worth more than £200,000 was discovered in a false compartment in a suitcase on a flight to Southampton Airport, a court heard.
Roland Castillo, 59, had flown from the African country of Cameroon via Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris into England.
Castillo, a Dutch national, was further remanded in custody until February 16 for details of his previous convictions. He had admitted smuggling 1.5 kilograms of the Class A drug with a 100 per cent purity.
Southampton Crown Court heard that Castillo – who lives in Holland – had a previous conviction for attempted murder and had been given ten years by a court in Venezuela for smuggling cocaine into the South American country, which was cut on appeal to 42 months in Holland.
