A HAMPSHIRE primary school’s new building proved it was weatherproof when it was officially opened in the wind and rain yesterday.
The £200,000 extension has created a brand new main entrance and office at Halterworth Primary School.
An interior redesign has also created a new meeting room.
Another new feature is an iron sculpture featuring the letters H and S, which was forged by Totton blacksmith Colin Phillips. The artwork incorporates special messages written by pupils.
Head teacher Jo Cottrell said she was delighted with the school’s new look.
She said: “First impressions do count.
“I think that in the past the exterior of the school has not matched up to all the good work which has gone on inside.”
