ONE Hampshire head teacher has faced her first inspection with success as her school celebrates a glowing report and a bright future ahead.

Fryern Infant School impressed Ofsted inspectors with its enthusiastic pupils and dedicated staff. The small Chandler’s Ford school received a good rating from the report, which marked many areas including behaviour and personal development as outstanding.

The report said: “This is a good school. It has some outstanding features. The school is a very happy and friendly place where pupils receive exceptional care. Given their capabilities, pupils of all abilities and backgrounds achieve well.”

Head teacher Veronica Stoodley, who has been at the school for three years, is aiming for an “outstanding” rating next time.

The inspectors also commended the strong leadership of Mrs Stoodley, who is enjoying her first post as head teacher.

The report added: “The head teacher provides strong leadership with a clear focus on giving pupils the very best start to their education within a supportive learning environment.”

Mrs Stoodley said: “We are delighted with this report.
