GRAFFITI removal, bench repairs, shrub planting, and a major clean-up are all planned for this week for one Southampton neighbourhood.
Bitterne is the latest area of the city that will benefit from a crime reduction and environment week (CREW).
The city council organised scheme starting today will see a concentrated effort to clean up the area and cut down on crime.
Council workers and police will carry out high visibility patrols to tackle fly tipping, clamp down on abandoned vehicles and issue on the spot fines to anyone dropping litter or cigarette ends.
The Crew team will begin their work at Bitterne C of E Junior School where they will ask children to help make their neighbourhood a nicer place to live. On Wednesday the Crew team will have an information stand at Bitterne Market.
