A MOBILE hairdresser was head-butted as he arrived at a bogus appointment.

The stylist was attacked by two men who then tried to steal his equipment worth £2,000 as he turned up for the appointment.

The 26-year-old suffered bruising and grazing to his forehead and also had the sleeve of his jacket ripped when he was set upon.

One of the straps of his rucksack, in which he was carrying the hairdressing equipment, was also ripped off as the pair tried to snatch it.

The thieves ended up stealing a grey woolly hat with a small peak which was being worn by the victim during the attack in Brookvale Road, Highfield, Southampton.

The two men being hunted by police are both white. One was in his late 40s and around 5ft 8ins tall, of stocky build and with short white or grey hair. He was clean shaven but had stubble on his chin and was wearing dark clothing.

The other man was in his late 30s, of stocky build and had dark curly hair. He was wearing a dark bomber jacket and blue tracksuit bottoms with a vertical thick white stripe down the leg.
