THE Prodigy, Basement Jaxx, Pendulum and The Ting Tings are the first of many acts to be confirmed for the Isle of Wight Festival 2009.

Taking to the main stage on Friday June 12, these show stealing acts will kick off the first major festival this summer with an electric party.

The Prodigy, renowned for their turbo-charged performances, are set to deliver their adrenaline-pumping anthems to the crowds, as they take one of the headline spots at the Isle of Wight Festival 2009. Following the release of their fifth album Invaders Must Die, the nation’s favourite rebels will ask festival-goers to Stand Up and celebrate their return to the island.

Ahead of The Prodigy on the main stage will be Basement Jaxx; get set to Jump N Shout as the South London duo bring their high-energy performances to the island. Renowned for bringing the house down, they’re sure to deliver a mind-blowing set that leaves fans begging for more!

Australian drum and bass gods, Pendulum, will take you to The Otherside as they bring their unique sounds to the Festival. Having previously remixed for The Prodigy, they will join their friends on the bill, and take to the main stage for a night of musical madness!

Finally, the award-winning duo The Ting Tings will deliver their indie dance to the crowds. Winners of Festival Pop Act, Best Newcomer and Anthem of the Summer at the UK Festival Music Awards 2008, these punk poppets are sure to kick things off with a blistering bundle of energy.

The Isle of Wight Festival takes place between June 12 and 14 at Seaclose Park, Newport, Isle of Wight. Watch this space for the Saturday and Sunday night line-ups.
