A BURGLAR who was caught red-handed in the kitchen of a Bishop’s Waltham home asked the elderly resident if he had any hamsters for sale.
When the 77-year-old man said he did not, the unwelcome guest said he would try another address and fled empty-handed.
The man wanted by police is described as white, 5ft 8in, of average build and aged 25 to 30.
He had a round face and stubble, dark brown or black gelled back hair and he was wearing a blue fleece and jeans and a dark T-shirt.
Anyone who saw a person matching this description in The Avenue or Park Road area between 6pm and 6.10pm on Thursday, January 15, should contact PC Stuart Paton at North Walls police station on 0845 045 4545 or Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
