A TOP Hampshire restaurant has gained a Michelin star for the first time.
The Terrace Restaurant at the Montagu Arms Hotel in Beaulieu is one of 132 pubs and restaurants to receive a star in the latest edition of the Michelin food guide.
In 2007 the 200-year-old venue was named Best Hampshire Restaurant by the Which? Good Food Guide.
Another New Forest restaurant, Le Poussin at Parkhill, near Lyndhurst, has kept its Michelin star.
A record number were awarded this year, with four venues achieving two for the first time and 26 making their debut with one.
