A MAN'S body has been found in a Hampshire field. Officers searching for missing pensioner Robert Underwood made the discovery near Selworth Lane in Soberton, at 2pm today (Thursday).
They are not treating the death as suspicious. Police launched a manhunt for the 78-year-old, who suffers from Alzheimer's Disease, after he was reported missing yesterday afternoon.
Inspector Kelvin Shipp, of Hampshire Police, said: "While a formal identification of the body has yet to be made, we do believe this to be missing Soberton man Robert Underwood."
A post-mortem will be carried out and next of kin will be identified in due course.
