AROUND 90 homes have been plunged into darkness tonight after problems were reported with the electricity supply.
The power was turned off at 6pm by Scottish and Southern Energy as a precaution when it found several households in Bitterne were experiencing low voltage.
The roads affected included Upper Deacon Road, Barry Road and Caerleon Drive.
A company spokesman said: “We apologise for the inconvenience. We may have to dig up part of the road to find the root of the problem but it will be restored as soon as possible.”
The company was tonight unable to say when power would be back on.
