A PENSIONER was attacked from behind by a youth wearing a hoodie who demanded money.
The 72-year-old victim had been to the shops and was walking home when the attempted robbery took place in Carrington Lane, Milford-on-Sea.
A police spokesman said: "The man was grabbed around the neck and pulled to the ground, with the offender on top of him.
"He cried for help and the youth ran off empty-handed."
The incident took place last Saturday at 6.45pm but details have only just been released.
The youth is described as white, about 5ft 10in and aged 18-20 years. He was wearing a light grey hooded top, with the hood up, and light coloured tracksuit bottoms.
