The Hampshire man accused of killing his wife in a town centre park has appeared before a crown court today.
Peter Cooper, 71, of Highfield Lane, Southampton, is accused of murdering Audrey, 71, a mother of one.
The offence is alleged to have happened in War Memorial Park, in Romsey, earlier this month.
She had been stabbed to death.
He made a brief appearance at Winchester Crown Court before Judge Guy Boney QC who adjourned the case until a plea and case management hearing at Winchester on April 30.
Cooper was remanded in custody.
