STAFF at Sony's Hampshire plant have been told have been told they may lose their jobs.
The electronics giant employs 670 people at the site near Basingstoke.
It has been reported that staff who's jobs are at-risks have been informed of the consultation on job cuts.
Sony has not confirmed how many jobs are at risk, nor if there will be redundancies or redeployment.
A final decision on the future of the Basingstoke plant will be made after the 90-day consultation.
Worldwide, Sony employs 185,000 people, but last year announced it would be cutting 8,000 of those positions, as well as closing 10 per cent of its factories.
