WIGHTLINK'S new cross-Solent ferries are running 15 minutes late because of what are being described as "tidal restrictions".
A company spokesman was unavailable for comment but Wightlink said a statement on the problem would be issued later today.
The controversial new ferries were introduced on the Lymington to Yarmouth route last week, replacing three 35-year-old craft.
They are subject to extra safety rules until all the necessary sea trials and environmental impact studies have been completed.
