NEIL Young will fill the slot previously occupied by the likes of the Rolling Stones, Police, REM and Coldplay at this year's Isle of Wight Festival.
FOR more than 40 years, he has pioneered musical genres and influenced generations of fans and now rock's most intriguing chameleon will be sharing his 'Heart of Gold' in an exclusive headline performance on Sunday night.
The cult hero will close the festival following performances from Razorlight, Stereophonics, The Prodigy, Basement Jaxx and many more.
The Charlatans take up the main slot at the Festival's big top.
Isle of Wight Festival 2009 takes place between June 12 and 14 at Seaclose Park in Newport.
