THOUSANDS of Hampshire’s most vulnerable residents are facing a huge hike in their rent.
Some 6,000 tenants of a housing association have been told they face increases of up to 15 per cent if they are to keep a roof over their heads.
One tenant’s £88-a-week rent will jump to £101 – a rise of £52-a-month.
The rocketing bills have been criticised for coming at a time when residents can ill afford any extra costs as the recession continues to grip the economy.
