A HAMPSHIRE college hopes that a multi-million-pound makeover will put it in a class of its own.
Bosses at Barton Peveril College believe the £47m plans will transform it into a world-class facility that will cater for the needs of every student.
If planning permission is granted, the campus in Chestnut Avenue, Eastleigh, will see its 50-year-old classrooms demolished and replaced by state-of-the-art education suites.
The proposals also include the construction of a new multi-games area, with room for four tennis courts.
The college is looking to Government funding to finance most of the project.
Principal Jonathan Prest said: “When finished the college will be a landmark to the excellent education which already goes on in it.”
The plans will be considered by the Eastleigh Council on May 12.
